1Guide Flyfishing

1Guide Flyfishing is a Wisconsin-based guiding and fly-fishing business developed by Steve Vance in 2019. A lifelong angler and Wisconsin-licensed guide since 1993, Vance offers guided fishing in southern Wisconsin and northeast Iowa, drawing on extensive fishing experience across the United States and parts of Central and South America.

Trips include sight fishing for smallmouth bass from a flats boat on southern Wisconsin lakes, wading for smallmouth bass in Driftless Region rivers, and fishing for brown trout in Driftless spring creeks. Northeast Iowa spring-creek trips are also available. Vance guides for additional species, including pike, bass, musky, steelhead, brown trout, king salmon, and coho salmon, using boats or wading depending on the location and fishery.

Alongside guided trips, 1Guide Flyfishing ties custom flies and builds custom fly rods, and maintains fly-fishing gear for clients to use. The business provides trip details and booking information, including seasonal availability, rates, and preparation requirements. Based in Platteville, Wisconsin, it operates as part of Vance-Lane LLC and serves anglers seeking personalized fishing experiences.
