1GVB

Erster Gleitschirmverein Bayerwald e.V. (1.GVB) is a paragliding club serving pilots in the Bavarian Forest region of Germany. The club brings members together to fly, share knowledge and develop their skills, welcoming both less-experienced and seasoned pilots. Its website provides information about local flying sites, including Osser, Voithenberg, Dieberg, Eschlkam and Hohenbogen, as well as guest-flying rules, weather links, club news, photographs, videos and reports.

A central focus is group flying and cross-country development. The club organises planned flying days, with route and tactics discussions, pilot coordination and vehicle support for retrieval. Members can also submit eligible flights for the club’s DHV cross-country league participation. Alongside flying, 1.GVB runs community events such as its club competition and festival, and safety activities including reserve-parachute packing and reserve-deployment seminars. These initiatives combine practical preparation with social exchange, helping members build confidence, share experience and strengthen the club community. The association also publishes information about membership, events and club activities for pilots and visitors.
