One Health Resilience Initiative

One Health Resilience Initiative (OHRI Nigeria) works to help communities become healthier, stronger, and more resilient. It connects community needs, scientific evidence, and policy action, using a One Health approach that recognizes the links between human, animal, and environmental wellbeing. Its work responds to challenges including climate change, pollution, emerging diseases, and resource degradation, with particular attention to the effects on women, children, and low-income groups.

OHRI’s programs span integrated disease prevention, animal health and livestock development, climate resilience, environmental health, ecosystem protection, and biodiversity. The initiative also supports community health and mental wellbeing, food security, sustainable agriculture, and stronger community systems. Through policy advocacy, research, and evidence-based action, it aims to turn local experience into practical solutions and lasting change. Its activities include helping communities strengthen prevention and early detection, improve livelihoods, protect ecosystems, and build climate-smart practices. OHRI works with communities, governments, donors, and partners, and invites people to contribute through volunteering and donations. Its CARE project focuses on building climate-resilient communities.
