Maou 2099 is the official anime brand for the adaptation of the work that received the Grand Prize at the 33rd Fantasia Awards. Set in the year 2099, the story follows a demon lord who arrives in Akihabara, a futuristic city shaped by advanced technology and magic. There, the city’s leading families and their competing “king’s marks” reflect the tension between its electric-town and magic-town identities, while schemes unfold around the demon lord’s quest for a new key to power.

The series began broadcasting on October 12, 2024, on TOKYO MX and other channels, with simultaneous and early streaming through d Anime Store and ABEMA.
