21 Hoch 3

21 Hoch 3 e.V. is a nonprofit self-help association founded in 2009 by parents of children with Trisomy 21 in Bremen and the surrounding area. Drawing on their own family experiences, members share practical knowledge and support one another in raising, caring for and encouraging their children. The association also works to challenge prejudice and promote understanding of people with Trisomy 21.

Its programs serve children, teenagers and young adults with Trisomy 21 or similar disabilities. Activities include courses, seminars, sports and psychomotor groups, music classes, a reading club, weekend meetups, holiday care, sexual education seminars and independent-living training. Designed around participants’ interests and support needs, these activities encourage autonomy, confidence and friendships, with trained carers providing guidance.

For parents and interested professionals, 21 Hoch 3 offers regular peer groups, advice and support, as well as lectures, workshops and training on topics such as development, education and legal matters. Family brunches, outings and residential breaks bring parents, children and siblings together, creating opportunities to connect, exchange experiences and learn from one another.
