About Chicks and a Hammer
Two Chicks & A Hammer is a renowned brand in the world of home renovation, founded by Karen E Laine and Mina Starsiak Hawk. What started as a passion project in 2007 has now become a thriving business dedicated to revitalizing properties in Indianapolis, one at a time. Mina's purchase of a rundown house after graduating from Indiana University ignited their love for transforming homes.
Working on 2-3 houses a year while also holding down day jobs, the duo quickly fell in love with the art of renovation. Their remarkable journey caught the attention of High Noon Entertainment, and in 2014, they filmed a pilot for HGTV. This led to the creation of the hit show Good Bones, which has been captivating audiences since its debut in 2015.
With Karen now retired from the business, Mina continues to work on renovating homes full-time, averaging around 14 houses a year. As they gear up for the fifth season of Good Bones, Two Chicks & A Hammer remains committed to their mission of revitalizing Indianapolis communities and inspiring others with their expert craftsmanship. Discover the transformative power of their work and join their journey to create beautiful, functional spaces one property at a time
