About 303 Gallery
303 Gallery is a renowned contemporary art gallery located in New York City. Since its establishment in 1984 by owner and director Lisa Spellman, the gallery has been dedicated to showcasing the work of contemporary artists across various mediums. The gallery's name, 303, pays homage to Alfred Stieglitz's Intimate Gallery located in Room 303 of the Anderson Galleries building.
Over the years, 303 Gallery has moved locations, starting from Park Avenue South to the East Village and then to Soho, where it hosted exhibitions by notable artists such as Vito Acconci, Andreas Gursky, Collier Schorr, and Rirkrit Tiravanija. In 1996, the gallery moved to Chelsea and, in 2016, settled into its current home on West 21st Street, designed by the prominent architect Norman Foster + Partners. 303 Gallery not only organizes exhibitions but also offers a viewing room, public exhibitions, and participation in art fairs.
The gallery represents a diverse roster of artists and supports collaborations and special projects. With its rich history and commitment to showcasing contemporary art, 303 Gallery continues to be a prominent destination for art enthusiasts and collectors alike
