305 8th Street Community is a faith-based, non-profit organization that has been serving adults with diverse disabilities since 1979. Our mission is to provide quality structured living arrangements and care plans for individuals with conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, brain injury, hearing impairment, cognitive disability, and visual impairment. We strive to advocate for their unique strengths and improve their quality of life through activities that foster personal growth.

Our residents face financial challenges, as their monthly income is limited to an average of $733, despite the cost of providing them with 24-hour, full-care service being $3,500 per month. This is why we rely on the support of our community to bridge this gap. Based in the heart of Huntsville, Alabama, our flagship residence is a beautiful 6,500 square foot home on 8th Street, built in 1949 by the McDonald Family and acquired by Miss Irene Smith in 1979. Over the years, our organization has expanded, and we now encompass three homes on 8th Street, each offering structured schedules and greater independence for our residents. Eighth Street Community operates on faith, and our dedicated Executive Director, Susan McGrady, brings over 20 years of experience and a passion for long-term sustainability to our mission.
