340 Defense

340 Defense is an outdoor shooting range and firearms training center in Charles Town, West Virginia, serving shooters from the Washington, DC area, including Northern Virginia, central Maryland, and West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle. The facility offers four ranges at 15, 50, 100, and 300 yards. Access to the 300-yard range is a membership benefit and requires qualification observed by a Range Safety Officer.

The center welcomes shooters of all experience levels, from beginners to advanced participants. Its firearms training is delivered by NRA-certified instructors, with public and private courses available for people looking to develop their skills. Visitors can choose hourly access or unlimited memberships, while non-members are also welcome. Annual membership fees are discounted by 10% for active or retired military personnel and first responders.

Safety is central to the range experience: new visitors must attend a safety briefing, and NRA safety rules apply. Located at 459 Berryville Pike Road, 340 Defense is open year-round except on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, with operating hours varying by day.
