35 North Contemporary Fine Art is an independent gallery in Brighton’s historic North Laine, established by Sharon and John Whiting in September 2014. The gallery promotes contemporary artists through a year-round programme of exhibitions, presenting work by both established and emerging artists from the UK and overseas. It plans to stage up to ten exhibitions annually, featuring represented artists and invited contributors.
The gallery’s programme spans painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics and prints, offering visitors opportunities to encounter a range of contemporary visual art. Its light, modern exhibition space also provides a setting for literary and performance events, developed through the gallery’s connections with artists across disciplines. Located at 35 North Road, the gallery is part of Brighton’s vibrant North Laine and serves as a venue for exhibitions and creative events. Featured artists have included Mark Nelson, Colin Ruffell, Philippa Stanton, Johanna Häiväoja, François Blosseville, Pam Taylor, Fran Doherty and John Brockliss. Through its exhibitions and events, 35 North brings artists and audiences together in a welcoming central Brighton setting.
