511 GALLERY and 511 PROJECTS is a salon-style gallery (but open to the public) of contemporary art operating out of The Chelsea Mercantile Building on Seventh Avenue. 511 Gallery represents ten artists, international as well as American, who work in the media of painting, photography, sculpture, and site-specific art. 511 Projects has two distinct practices: a secondary market, or “backroom” practice in the deaccessioning and acquisition of American and European art of the nineteenth through twenty-first centuries – with particular expertise in the genres of American Impressionism, American Modernism, Hudson River School, and Photography – on behalf of public and private collections; and a curatorial practice in which we organize exhibitions for museums, art centers, and corporate venues. The primary mission of both 511 Gallery and 511 Projects is to place fine artworks in public institutions.

About 511 Gallery
511 GALLERY and 511 PROJECTS is a salon-style gallery located in The Chelsea Mercantile Building on Seventh Avenue. Open to the public, this contemporary art gallery represents ten artists, both international and American, who specialize in painting, photography, sculpture, and site-specific art. In addition to showcasing these artists, 511 Projects operates two distinct practices.
Firstly, they engage in a secondary market practice, dealing with the deaccessioning and acquisition of American and European art from the nineteenth to twenty-first centuries. They have particular expertise in American Impressionism, American Modernism, Hudson River School, and Photography. This allows them to meet the needs of public and private collections.
Secondly, 511 Projects offers a curatorial practice, organizing exhibitions for museums, art centers, and corporate venues. Both 511 Gallery and 511 Projects are dedicated to placing fine artworks in public institutions. Currently on view is the exhibition "Edward Hopper and Guy Pène du Bois: Painting the Real" at the Polk Museum of Art
