The 5th Special Operations Centre is a Ukrainian military formation established in autumn 2022 on the basis of the 5th Separate Detachment, under a decision by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. Its mission is to protect Ukraine and carry out operational tasks assigned by senior leadership. The Centre brings together Ukrainian service members and foreign volunteers with combat experience and advanced training, and includes units such as ATLAS, the Kastus Kalinouski Regiment, PHANTOM, Expeditionaries and Infernal.

Its capabilities include special operations and combat activities, as well as the use of unmanned systems for reconnaissance, fire adjustment and other battlefield tasks. ATLAS, formed in 2022, specializes in drone operations. The Centre also recruits for a broad range of military roles, including reconnaissance, communications, medical support, infantry, armored-vehicle driving and mobile fire teams. Drone-related positions cover piloting multirotor, fixed-wing and FPV aircraft, operating ground robotic systems, and repairing drones. The organization provides information for prospective recruits and invites people to join or support its work.
