86 Challenge

86 Challenge is an independently organized time trial series for Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ enthusiasts in Northern California. Built around a platform-specific, easy-to-understand ruleset, the series provides a friendly and safety-focused setting for drivers to develop their skills and explore their cars’ capabilities on track. Participants can compete in a class, join for a ride, or spectate at events hosted with SpeedSF and Speed Ventures.

To take part, drivers register for a track day through the event schedule, review the rules to determine their class, and submit the 86 Challenge sign-up form. Participation in the series itself has no additional cost beyond the track-day registration; timing transponder rental is optional and available at a discounted rate. The organization also encourages newcomers to connect through its Discord community and offers information about tire and cash-prize programs.
