888 is a modern Japanese restaurant and vinyl listening lounge in downtown Nashville, attached to the JW Marriott at 800 Clark Place. Described as Tokyo by way of Nashville, it pairs refined Japanese cuisine with a high-fidelity music experience in an intimate, communal setting.
The restaurant brings together two culinary programs. Its Edomae sushi counter, led by Master Sushi Chef Kiichi Okabe, features seasonal fish, hand-shaped nigiri, and a carefully refined rice program, with reserved seating available at Kiichiβs Kounter. Executive Chef Alfredo Bueno leads the kitchen, serving donabe, wagyu, tempura, and seasonal composed plates designed for sharing. Guests can also choose from drinks, desserts, and happy-hour offerings.
Music is central to the experience: a custom hi-fi system accompanies a collection of more than 2,000 records, with soul, funk, and jazz among its foundations. 888 also hosts listening dinners and one-night collaborations, and offers private dining, reservations, and newsletter updates.
