8 Bit Inside

8 Bit Inside is an Italian cultural association dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of computing and digital technology. Founded on February 26, 2016, by engineers and enthusiasts of electronics, information technology, and telecommunications, the organization focuses on retrocomputing, retrogaming, retromusic, and retrocommunications. Its work includes restoring and maintaining vintage electronic equipment, as well as presenting it through exhibitions, public events, and educational seminars led by its members.

The association’s collection contains approximately 1,500 items, spanning the evolution of the computer age from its beginnings in the 1960s to the present. It aims to make its physical and virtual museum interactive and engaging, particularly for younger generations. Alongside its museum activities, 8 Bit Inside participates in national events, including the Commodore Day and Romics, and shares updates about restoration projects, vintage computers, and technology through its online channels. People who join as members can support the collection and help sustain the association’s preservation and outreach work.
