8mb.video is an online video compression service designed to help people prepare videos for sharing through Discord and other platforms with upload-size limits. Users can upload a file or provide a URL, then choose a target size, including 8MB, 10MB, 20MB, 25MB, 50MB, 100MB, or a custom limit of up to 200MB. The service is free to use and does not require an account or software installation.

Optional controls let users remove audio, set start and end timecodes, skip sections at the beginning or end, and prioritize extra quality at the cost of slower processing. Users can also enable a completion sound, automatic downloading, and repeat downloads. The site states that uploaded videos are permanently deleted after 20 minutes or once they have been downloaded, whichever happens first. Additional downloads can be requested through the options. 8mb.video also accepts support contributions and provides links to its terms, privacy notices, billing portal, and server status. The brand clarifies that it is not affiliated with Discord.
