A-Z presents

A—Z is an independent graphic design space in Berlin, founded as an initiative of book designer Anja Lutz and The Green Box – Kunst Editionen. Its mission is to expand the definition of graphic design by challenging conventional boundaries and creating dialogue with contemporary art, cultural research and social engagement. At its central storefront, A—Z invites designers to present artistic, conceptual and experimental projects that extend beyond the commissioned, applied side of design.

Exhibitions and contributions use a wide range of formats, including print, digital media, installation, performance and film, and explore subjects from typography and language to political and social questions. Alongside its showcases, A—Z organizes talks, workshops and other events in collaboration with designers, initiatives, collectives and institutions from around the world. Its programming includes publications and discussions that examine how design intersects with tools, technology and collective practice.

By giving space to varied approaches and cross-disciplinary exchange, A—Z offers an alternative to narrow specialization and supports the exploration and promotion of unconventional graphic design
