AABE FL

The Florida Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE Florida) is a professional and educational organization affiliated with AABE National, which has chapters across the United States. Its members represent the energy sector, and the chapter focuses on professional development, community engagement, and membership. Its mission is to provide leadership development, networking, and volunteer opportunities for energy professionals and entrepreneurs, while supporting community outreach and education.

AABE Florida offers scholarships for eligible high school seniors and college students pursuing energy-related education, including STEM and business fields. Its college scholars program can include mentorship and internship opportunities. The chapter also works with sponsors and community partners to introduce young people to energy careers and related projects. Beyond scholarships, it hosts events such as an annual scholarship golf tournament and a general membership meeting, and shares information about national conferences and programs. Members can participate in advocacy and informed discussion about the economic, social, and political effects of energy and environmental policy, with an emphasis on increasing African American involvement in the energy industry and policy-making.
