The FestAusschuss Aachener Karneval e.V. serves as the unifying body and advocate for the vibrant Aachener Karneval traditions. Established in 1935, it coordinates around 50 local Karneval clubs while acting as a regional chapter of the Bund Deutscher Karneval. The organization is renowned for orchestrating major events, including the iconic Rosenmontagszug and the Aachener Kinderkarneval, which boasts a rich history of celebrating youth involvement since its inception in 1937.

In addition to its event coordination, the association is committed to cultural preservation as part of the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage list. The Aachener Karneval is celebrated for its unique contributions, such as the tradition of proffering the Märchenprinz every year.
