About Aa en Hunze Molens
Aa en Hunze Mills is a website introducing four historic grain mills in the municipality of Aa en Hunze in the Netherlands. The mills are located in Gasselternijveen, Gieten, Gieterveen and Rolde, and each has its own character, history and appearance. Three are traditional gallery mills, while the mill in the centre of Rolde, beside the village green, is a ground-sailor mill. They are maintained in good condition by enthusiastic volunteer millers.
