AAF

Amatør-Astronomisk Forening (AAF) is a Danish association bringing together people who share an interest in astronomy, the universe and communicating knowledge about space. Founded in 1973, it welcomes everyone from beginners to experienced enthusiasts; owning a telescope is not required. The association’s activities combine learning, practical observation and social connection, with a focus on sharing knowledge and encouraging curiosity across generations.

AAF organizes regular new-moon gatherings at locations around Denmark, where members can take part in observations, talks, workshops and exchanges of experience. Its event programme also includes activities such as 3D printing and social occasions. Members can try different telescopes during events and receive guidance when considering equipment, helping them make informed choices. The association also offers access to telescope loans, as well as news, a gallery and a newsletter that shares important event updates. Through its meetings and community, AAF helps people explore the night sky together and makes astronomy more approachable, whether they are discovering the subject for the first time or developing an established interest.
