Academy of Ancient Music (AAM) is an orchestra with a global reputation for performing Baroque and classical music. It brings historical repertoire to life through concerts, opera performances, collaborations and recordings, connecting audiences with music from across several centuries. AAM’s programme features works by composers including Monteverdi, Bach, Handel, Beethoven, Haydn and Mozart, presented in venues in London, Cambridge, Oxford and internationally.
Its events range from intimate harpsichord recitals and chamber works to large-scale performances of Messiah with soloists and local choirs. The orchestra also works with specialist performers, singers and partner organisations, and takes part in festivals such as Martin Randall’s Monteverdi festival in Venice. Alongside its live performances, AAM offers recordings through its online shop, including releases devoted to works by Mozart and John Weldon.
The organisation shares concert listings, news and updates through its website and mailing list, and invites audiences to support its work. With a varied season spanning familiar masterpieces and rediscovered music, AAM offers both live and recorded ways to explore historically informed performance
