About AANA
AANA is dedicated to promoting and advancing all forms of advertising and marketing in Australia, with a focus on delivering value for brands, the community, and the economy. Established in 1997, AANA, alongside Ad Standards, plays a crucial role as the custodian of Australia's advertising content self-regulation system. They develop, review, and update advertising codes while operating an impartial complaints handling process with a high compliance rate.
Ad Standards adjudicates complaints made by the public through an independent Community Panel, which represents the diversity of Australian society. Annually, Ad Standards receives over 5000 complaints and adjudicates over 500 cases, publishing the results for transparent review. AANA offers four key areas of value to its members.
Firstly, they ensure their members' voices are heard on important matters affecting marketers. They also protect and support self-regulation, promoting socially responsible marketing and preserving members' rights to commercial free speech. AANA actively shapes the future of the industry by engaging with government and industry leaders to drive positive changes.
Additionally, AANA fosters a community of fellow marketers, providing ample networking opportunities through events and training sessions. They equip their members to stay ahead of industry trends and changes, offering a marketing capability program tailored to their needs. AANA helps members contract effectively with media partners, provides educational programs for professional development, and inspires innovative thinking through stimulating events.
Lastly, they encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing across industries to break down silos. To join AANA and gain these valuable benefits, visit their website at aana. com.
