A&J Motorcycle Safety School is a veteran-owned training provider based in Bucksport, Maine, serving riders from communities across the state. In business since 2007, the school has trained nearly 4,000 people and operates what it describes as Maine’s largest privately owned motorcycle training range. Its classes run six days a week, with a relaxed, safety-focused approach and instruction based on the internationally recognized Motorcycle Safety Foundation Rider Education curriculum.

The school’s two-day Basic Rider Course is designed for new and returning riders, teaching practical skills such as clutch control, cornering, slow-speed maneuvers, obstacle avoidance, and quick stopping. Students who successfully complete the course receive a completion card that can waive the motorcycle road test and written test at the Maine DMV. A 3-Wheel Basic Rider Course offers classroom instruction and riding exercises for people learning to operate three-wheel motorcycles. A&J also provides the BRC2 advanced rider course, women’s-only classes, and private group classes. A motorcycle maintenance class is also offered.
