Secretary Kennedy

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is a federal executive department serving the health and human-services needs of people across the United States. Its work spans public health, health care, research, food and product safety, aging, and support for individuals and families. HHS administers more than 100 programs and provides guidance, information, and access points for services such as health centers, insurance assistance, Medicare, Medicaid, mental-health and substance-use support, and resources for older adults, caregivers, children, and people with disabilities.

The department also supports health research and education through resources including the National Library of Medicine, health data, clinical research information, and grant funding. HHS offers information about federal laws and regulations, civil rights, health-information privacy, and ways to submit complaints or comment on proposed rules. Organizations can explore grants, contracts, and small-business opportunities. Through its divisions and public programs, HHS works across a broad range of national health and social-service priorities, while providing public updates, resources, and contact channels.
