The Australasian Association of Philosophy (AAP) is a charitable organisation founded in 1922 and the peak body promoting philosophical research, education and scholarship in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. Its members include academic philosophers, students and community members interested in philosophy. The Association supports philosophy in universities and schools, as well as public engagement across the wider community.
The AAP brings people together through conferences, lectures, workshops and public events, and recognises achievement with awards for research, presentations, media contributions and inclusive curriculum innovation. It provides resources and opportunities for students and early-career philosophers, including postgraduate and undergraduate programs, internships and publication pathways.
The Association also supports philosophical publishing. Its journals include the Australasian Journal of Philosophy, published since 1923; the Australasian Philosophical Review, featuring open peer commentary since 2017; and Philosophical Exchange, an online journal launching in 2026. The AAP is an institutional partner of the Undergraduate Philosophy Journal of Australasia and supports the postgraduate public philosophy magazine Sagacity.
