AAPIRC (Association for Assistance to People with Chronic Kidney Failure) is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization founded on April 27, 2012, and recognized as a public-interest organization by the municipality. Based in Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais, Brazil, it works to support people with chronic kidney failure who are experiencing social vulnerability. Its mission also includes raising awareness about kidney disease prevention and organ donation, defending social rights, and promoting equality, citizenship, and human dignity.
People assisted by AAPIRC may receive medicines that are unavailable through the public health system, food baskets, adult diapers, nutritional supplements, wheelchairs, bathing chairs, and walkers. The organization also provides social services to help people navigate complications that can arise during treatment. Through public education, AAPIRC encourages preventive care, including regular exercise and healthy eating. It invites individuals to support its work through donations, including contributions via PIX. AAPIRC is also raising funds to acquire a site and build a welcoming, specialized care facility for people living with chronic kidney failure.
