About AAPP
The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (Burma), also known as AAPP, is a human rights organization dedicated to advocating for the release of all political prisoners in Burma and improving their quality of life during and after incarceration. Their mission is rooted in the struggle for democracy, human rights, equality, and freedom for the people of Burma. AAPP operates rehabilitation and assistance programs for political activists who have been released, while also documenting the ongoing imprisonment of political activists in Burma.
They provide counseling, training, and stress management programs to support the mental health and well-being of former political prisoners. In addition to their direct assistance programs, AAPP engages in advocacy and lobbying efforts to bring attention to the plight of political prisoners in Burma. They regularly release press statements, daily briefings, and thematic reports to raise awareness and promote change.
By working towards the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners, AAPP plays a crucial role in Burma's national reconciliation process. For further information or inquiries, please contact AAPP through their website
