Aappma-Chamarandefr

The Association Agréée de Pêche et de Protection du Milieu Aquatique de Chamarande (AAPPMA de Chamarande) is a fishing and aquatic-environment association founded in 1981. Established when the Essonne department acquired Chamarande Park, it first helped restore the park’s pond and canals. Through partnerships with neighboring municipalities along the Juine River, the association has expanded access to recreational fishing from Auvers-Saint-Georges to Bouray-sur-Juine. It participates in the EHGO reciprocal fishing-card scheme and welcomes anglers who wish to join or learn about its volunteer community.

Beyond fishing access, the association organizes activities that introduce people to fishing, nature and local wetlands. Its programme includes fishing workshops, public events, school nature-discovery outings, and seasonal activities such as crayfish fishing. Volunteers also carry out maintenance work and environmental awareness initiatives, including education about aquatic habitats and light pollution. The association shares information about fishing routes, events, biodiversity and its projects, and invites schools, community groups and the public to enquire about its activities.
