AAPPMA Quillan

AAPPMA de Quillan is an approved local association dedicated to fishing and the protection of aquatic environments in the Haute Vallée de l’Aude. It supports responsible angling while working to preserve rivers, lakes, fish populations and surrounding habitats. Its activities include fish monitoring and studies of aquatic ecosystems, as well as riverbank and river clean-ups carried out with volunteers and partner organisations.

The association provides information about fishing regulations, local fishing areas and designated no-kill stretches on the Aude, Boulzane and Rebenty rivers. It also manages fishing opportunities at Lac Saint-Bertrand in Quillan, where rules include daily catch limits and restrictions on the number of rods. Fishing permits are required.

For younger participants, AAPPMA de Quillan offers nature and fishing workshops, with equipment provided for some sessions, and organises children’s fishing events. It also hosts fishing activities, including fly-casting instruction, and takes part in wider competitions and community events. Through practical education, local stewardship and recreational fishing, the association connects residents and visitors with the region’s waters while promoting respect for fish and aquatic environments.
