Problemy Arktiki i Antarktiki (Problems of the Arctic and Antarctic) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal devoted to research across Earth’s polar regions. Continuing the tradition of the journal Problems of the Arctic, first published in 1937, it presents new findings from multidisciplinary studies of the Arctic and Antarctic. Its coverage includes oceanography, meteorology, climatology, hydrology, glaciology, sea ice, geology, hydrochemistry and paleogeography, alongside biology, ecology, and the economic and social security of the Arctic.

The journal publishes scholarly articles in both Russian and English and provides access to current and archived issues, including downloadable PDFs. It also offers guidance for authors and information about its editorial board, peer-review process, and publication ethics. Established by the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute and Roshydromet, the journal is published under the scientific and methodological guidance of the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Department of Earth Sciences.
