AarhusArkivet

AarhusArkivet is the digital archive service of the Aarhus City Archives, designed to provide accessible resources for exploring the history of Aarhus. Users can discover approximately 300,000 documents, films, and images online, which cover a wide range of historical topics. For materials not available digitally, patrons can request access in the reading room located at Dokk1. Aarhus Stadsarkiv serves as both the historical archive and administrative archive for Aarhus Municipality, ensuring the preservation of local heritage.

The development of AarhusArkivet is supported by generous donations and partnerships with various organizations, including Salling Fondene and Family Search, enhancing the archive's offerings through digitalization efforts and community engagement. Additionally, collaborations with local institutions have facilitated projects like the digitization of historical photographs and records. AarhusArkivet also encourages public engagement through newsletters that provide updates, ensuring the community stays informed about new resources and developments.
