Aarhus Center, operating under the Public Organization Tebigi Kuwwat, was established in Turkmenistan to promote the principles of the Aarhus Convention, which focuses on access to environmental information, public participation in environmental decision-making, and access to justice related to environmental matters. Since its inception in August 2012, following a cooperative agreement with the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, the Center has played a vital role in enhancing public awareness and engagement in environmental issues.

The Aarhus Center provides a range of services, including educational outreach, the development of information materials, and the creation of data platforms such as websites and libraries. It actively hosts seminars and discussions to foster collaboration between civil society and government entities. Additionally, the Center offers consulting services on environmental legislation and promotes the importance of public involvement in environmental conservation. By producing practical guides and reports, the Aarhus Center aims to empower communities to engage in sustainable practices and influence policy around environmental protection in Turkmenistan.
