AARoads is an online resource devoted to comprehensive coverage of roads and highways across the United States. Its mission is to document the nation’s road network and make useful information accessible to road enthusiasts, travelers, and researchers. The site’s central offering is its route-by-route photo guides, featuring highways, interstates, and local roads organized by route, direction, and state. These guides pair photographic documentation with road maps, highway history, and information on transportation projects, supporting both trip planning and general research.

AARoads also provides chronological updates on newly added photos, a photo archive of earlier images and superseded guides, and a Shield Gallery featuring more than 10,000 photos from across the country. Its Interstate-Guide explores current, past, and future routes in the Interstate Highway System, while the AARoads Wiki serves as a free online gazetteer covering roads in the United States and Canada. Visitors can also join discussions in the forum and read the “On The Road” blog, which reports on travel and newly opened roads.
