Aart Lamberts was an Amsterdam-based sculptor who lived and worked in the city from 1947 until 2015. After studying at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam, he developed a distinctive, monumental style, creating figurative works with a concise, powerful approach to form. His bronze sculptures from the 1970s and 1980s remain relevant, while his later work explored communication, encounters and expectation through increasingly concentrated forms.
Lamberts had a particular interest in modelling sculptures for casting in bronze, with close attention to the treatment of the surface. His portfolio includes works such as Baadster, Kanaalgravers IJmuiden, Ontmoeting, Huid and Het Koor. The website presents his sculptures, drawings, exhibitions, commissions, publications and media coverage, alongside biographical information and news.
Many portfolio works, including sculptures and drawings, are available for purchase. Visitors can arrange an appointment to view works or request information by phone or through the contact form. The site also offers Lambertsβ book Beeldtaal for sale
