The Airlines Association of Southern Africa (AASA) is the representative airline body mandated to look after the interests of airlines in the Southern African Development Community (SADC). AASA represents the interests of the airlines in the SADC regional economic bloc on matters relating to government policies, legislation, regulations, planning, operational efficiency, safety, security, taxes, charges, and fees.

About Airlines Association of Southern Africa
The Airlines Association of Southern Africa (AASA) is the principal representative body advocating for the interests of airlines within the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Established in 1970, AASA plays a vital role in promoting operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with government policies among its 15 Airline Members and 42 Associate Members. The association addresses key issues such as legislation, taxes, and airport charges, ensuring that member airlines can provide affordable air transport services throughout the region. AASA also participates in international forums, including the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), reinforcing its commitment to industry standards.
In addition to advocacy, AASA offers Aviation Co-ordination Services (ACS), which streamlines operations and reduces costs for airlines through initiatives like baggage management services at major South African airports. Through its lean organizational structure, AASA effectively collaborates with industry stakeholders to promote sustainability, diversity, and innovation in aviation while tackling pressing environmental challenges.
