Åsane tennis

Åsane Tennis is a local tennis club serving the Åsane district of Bergen, Norway. Since its establishment, the club has worked to build a welcoming tennis community and make the sport accessible to residents of the area. Its activities include a tennis school for children and young people, launched in summer 2025 with support from Sparebanken Vest, giving local beginners an opportunity to try tennis. The club also organizes events for members and the wider community, including its first club championship, held at courts in Stavkirkeveien 12 with facilities kindly provided by Fana Tennis Club.

Åsane Tennis has formed a men’s team and completed its first season in Norway’s national team competition, helping represent the district in the sport. A central priority is securing tennis courts in Åsane, which currently has none despite its population of around 42,000. The club reports that its proposal has received municipal support, a site has been granted a planning exemption, and funding has been allocated in the municipality’s investment budget.
