The Australian Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology Association (ARATA) is Australia’s national organisation for information exchange and collaboration across the assistive technology sector. Since the mid-1990s, it has helped connect people and expertise in a field focused on practical solutions that support everyday life. Its 2026 Australian Assistive Technology Conference, AATC2026, brings together assistive technology users, families, clinicians, researchers, innovators, industry partners, community organisations and policymakers.
Held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from 11 to 13 November 2026, the event features a two-day conference preceded by a day of workshops. Under the theme “Real Solutions for Real Life,” the program explores assistive technology ranging from simple, bespoke tools to advanced robotics, home automation and manufacturing, alongside the lived experiences of technology users. Attendees can register for the conference and pre-conference workshops, while organisations can explore sponsorship and exhibition opportunities. The conference also provides a platform for research and innovation presentations, with first-time presenters and people with lived experience encouraged to participate. Accessibility support is available for contributors preparing or submitting presentations.
