Aattelu

Aattelu Oy is a Kuopio-based counseling and coaching practice offering support for relationships, personal challenges, and life transitions. Led by Kirsi Mäkiniemi, a couples counselor and crisis therapist with qualifications in social psychology, the practice meets clients in Kuopio and via Zoom. Appointments can be booked through Vello.

Services include couples therapy for relationship crises, persistent conflict, separation or divorce considerations, and recurring difficulties. Therapy may also address complex relationship concerns such as infidelity, addiction, mental health challenges, trauma, abuse, gender diversity, sexual orientation, and polyamory, with support tailored to individual needs. Aattelu also offers dating coaching to help clients clarify their needs, understand what they seek in a partner, and consider compatibility. For couples whose relationship is functioning but could benefit from greater connection, couples coaching focuses on intimacy, passion, commitment, shared hopes, and changes in life circumstances. Aattelu describes its approach as everyday social psychology, helping people find direction through relationship difficulties and change.
