About Amer. Birding Assoc.
The American Birding Association (ABA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring all people to enjoy and protect wild birds. With an extensive knowledge base, expertise, and world-class content, the ABA aims to bring more people into the birding community. The ABA offers a range of products and services to support birders in their passion for avian observation.
Their field guides cater to birders in specific states or provinces, providing descriptions, tips on when and where to spot each bird, and stunning color photographs. In addition to field guides, the ABA provides resources such as birding news, checklists, and a code of birding ethics. They also offer rare bird alerts, birding festivals and events, and a comprehensive listing of birding clubs and organizations.
In line with their mission to protect birds, the ABA partners with Thanksgiving Coffee Company to bring you Song Bird Coffee. This coffee is grown in Bird-Friendly certified farms by the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center, meeting the gold standard for shade-grown, organic coffees. Through their programs, the ABA encourages youth involvement in birding, organizes birding travel experiences, and supports various initiatives like Birders' Exchange, which provides equipment and resources to birdwatching organizations in need.
The ABA also offers community weekends, where birders come together for guided walks, workshops, and gatherings in cities across the U. S. By joining the ABA and participating in their activities, birders contribute to the betterment of birds, birders, and the birding community as a whole
