About Abbaye Benedictine
The Abbey of Sainte-Marie des Deux-Montagnes is a serene Benedictine community dedicated to prayer, reflection, and the deepening of spiritual life. Nestled in Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, Quebec, this sacred space invites individuals to seek intimacy with God through various practices such as liturgy, Divine Reading, and communal worship. The Sisters engage in the Work of God, embodying the teachings of St. Benedict by uniting their voices and hearts in prayerful harmony.
In addition to spiritual formation, the Abbey offers a guesthouse for retreats, allowing visitors to experience the tranquil environment and engage in spiritual growth. The on-site gift shop provides a variety of religious articles, promoting the Benedictine way of life. Here, the Sisters aim to foster a familial atmosphere, encouraging love and selflessness among themselves and their guests. Daily Eucharistic celebrations, enhanced by Gregorian chant, form the heart of their community life, reflecting their commitment to living the Paschal Mystery and sharing God’s love with all.
