Abbie Kamin is a dedicated and passionate Houston City Council Member representing District C. As a civil rights attorney and former Associate Regional Director of the Anti-Defamation League’s Southwest Regional Office, Abbie is a champion for Houston families. She is also the first City Councilmember to become a mother while in office.

Abbie prioritizes the safety of our families as the leader of City Council’s Public Safety & Homeland Security Committee. She collaborates with law enforcement to combat domestic violence and gun violence, which have tragically become the number one cause of death in children.

Additionally, Abbie invests in infrastructural development. Under her leadership, more than $100 million worth of projects have been approved or are underway to enhance flooding prevention, improve traffic conditions, and upgrade roads, sidewalks, and parks in District C. She also works diligently to increase the community's resilience in the face of climate change.

District C encompasses 15 unique super neighborhoods, including Greater Heights, Midtown, and River Oaks. Abbie is committed to protecting these neighborhoods, focusing particularly on flood prevention and targeted interventions through the city's Stormwater Action Team.
