Abby's Heroes

Abby’s Heroes is a Southampton-based charity supporting children, teenagers, young adults and their families affected by cancer. The charity works with patients cared for on the Piam Brown Ward and the Teenagers and Young Adults wards at University Hospital Southampton, helping families from across the South Coast of England. Its aim is to provide practical, emotional and financial support throughout the hospital journey and beyond.

Services include financial grants, welfare packs and care and comfort bags, as well as counselling and play therapy for patients and family members. Abby’s Heroes also runs a family room stocked with emergency provisions, organises days out for families, and offers special activities for grandparents and siblings. Bereaved families are also among those supported.

The charity raises funds through donations, community and corporate fundraising, events, merchandise, its lottery and named funds created in a child or young person’s honour. Supporters can take part in organised events or fundraise themselves.
