Abendfrieden

Abendfrieden Seebestattungen is a family-led funeral service based in Stein-Laboe, Germany, specialising in dignified sea burials. For more than 40 years, the team has conducted ceremonies in the North and Baltic Seas using its own professional vessel, and can also arrange and accompany sea burials abroad according to families’ wishes.

Led by Anja Beutler, a qualified funeral director and master funeral director, and Heinz Beutler, a qualified funeral director, captain, funeral speaker and grief companion, Abendfrieden supports families from the first call through the farewell at sea and beyond. Its services include planning and conducting sea burials, providing sea urns, and offering access to a memorial site. The company also provides pre-planning services for people wishing to record their wishes in advance.

Abendfrieden places emphasis on respect for each person’s individual life story, and aims to create a sensitive, personal farewell shaped by families’ priorities and feelings. Its stated values include sustainability, appreciation, individuality, empathy and qualified bereavement support.
