About Aberdeen Area Arts Council
The Aberdeen Area Arts Council (AAAC) is a brand dedicated to promoting art in six counties in northeast South Dakota. Established in 1967, the AAAC aims to enhance the quality of life through the arts by initiating, sponsoring, and encouraging art opportunities and promoting arts education in the Aberdeen area. As a 501c(3) organization, the AAAC is funded through memberships, grants from the City of Aberdeen, the SD Arts Council, and other grants.
They host various programming throughout the year, including events such as Arts in the Park, Winterfest, Storybook Land Festival, Storybook Land Theatre, and the Membership Extravaganza. The AAAC also collaborates with South Dakotans for the Arts to stay up-to-date on art advocacy issues.
