Fundación Abertis

The Abertis Chairs International Network connects universities and business to advance research and innovation in transport infrastructure management, road safety and sustainable mobility. Established by Abertis, the programme supports collaboration with academic institutions in seven countries, complementing the activities of the Abertis Group and exploring solutions to future mobility challenges. Its work considers the technical, environmental, social and economic dimensions of transport infrastructure and the movement of people and goods.

The network’s activities include partnerships with universities, applied research, data analysis and academic initiatives that contribute knowledge to society. It also presents Abertis Awards, recognising graduate and doctoral research in areas such as mobility, transport systems, infrastructure planning and operations. Awards include prizes for the best doctoral and master’s theses, with an international prize selected from national winners. Through its chairs and awards, Abertis encourages research excellence, comprehensive training and stronger ties between academia, business and institutions. The programme aims to support more efficient and sustainable mobility through evidence, innovation and exchange between researchers and practitioners.
