The Belgian Foreign Trade Agency (BFTA) operates at the service of the three Regional authorities for export promotion: Flanders Investment & Trade, hub.brussels and Wallonia Export-Investment Agency, as well as at the service of the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs. The activities of the BFTA were stipulated by the Cooperation Agreement of May 24th 2002 between the Federal Government and the Regions. The Agency organises joint economic missions at the request of its partners and contributes since 2015, upon approval of the Board of Directors, to the logistical organisation and the economic aspects of Belgian State Visits abroad. The BFTA also runs an information centre and sends out international business opportunities to companies on behalf of the Regions through the mobile application Trade4U. The database listing up Belgian exporters is regularly updated thanks to exchanges with the Regions. The BFTA provides also information on foreign markets: from studies within the framework of economic missions to national and international statistics and legal advice or information on regulations regarding foreign trade. www.belgianeconomicmission.be www.belgianstatevisit.be www.tradexplorer.be www.tradexplorermap.be

About Belgian Foreign Trade Agency
The Belgian Economic Mission, also known as L’Agence pour le Commerce extérieur, is an agency that supports the promotion of foreign trade for the three regions and the federal authority. Established in 2002, this agency acts as a forum where federal and regional competencies in international trade intersect. Its services include organizing joint commercial missions, providing information and studies on foreign markets, and offering legal assistance to exporters.
The agency's mission focuses on two main axes. The first axis involves organizing two economic missions per year in collaboration with other trade agencies. These missions provide Belgian companies the opportunity to establish high-level contacts abroad with industrial actors, organizations, and government bodies.
The second axis focuses on the development and dissemination of information on foreign markets. The agency maintains an updated database of exporters, delivers business proposals, and offers customized statistical data and economic studies on international markets. Looking ahead, the Belgian Economic Mission plans to continue its activities in 2023, which will include state visits and princely missions to South Africa, Senegal, Australia, and Germany.
The agency will also publish economic studies, enhance the database of Belgian exporters, and provide targeted international business opportunities through their Trade4U package. With its wealth of resources and expertise, the Belgian Economic Mission is dedicated to supporting businesses in their global trade endeavors
