Ability Specialists

Ability Specialists Inc. is a Denver Metro organization supporting working-age adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Serving the community since 1999, it focuses on building practical independence through real-world experiences, consistent coaching, and high expectations. Its community-based programs help participants develop life, vocational, and social skills through structured practice and repetition.

Services include Community Job Training, which builds workplace readiness and confidence; Group Supported Employment, where small work crews complete tasks at partner sites with on-site coaching; and Individual Supported Employment, offering one-to-one job coaching for people preparing for, starting, or maintaining employment. The organization also lists activities such as an Evening Social Club and workouts among its areas of interest.

Ability Specialists works with families, community organizations, volunteer worksites, and employers to create supported employment partnerships. It helps clarify tasks and expectations, provides staff support at worksites, and coaches supervisors and employees to promote stable outcomes. New participants and partners can begin with a tour and fit assessment to discuss goals and support needs.
