About Summer Solstice Festival 2024
Mādahòkì Farm is an Indigenous cultural agritourism destination located on a stunning 164-acre property in Ottawa's Greenbelt. With a mission to share the land, stories, and food from an Indigenous perspective, this farm offers a range of engaging experiences and activities.
One of the highlights is the opportunity to interact with the endangered Ojibwe Spirit Horses, watching them play and graze in the fields. Visitors can also explore the legacy trail and leave a message of reconciliation, purchase authentic Indigenous products from the marketplace store, and visit the small farm animals.
The farm provides a delightful children's play area, picnic tables, and heated port-a-potties for public use. During the winter season, snowshoe rentals are available to explore the farm's picturesque surroundings.
An annual lineup of seasonal festivals, including Tagwàgi (Autumn), Pibòn (Winter), and Sīgwan (Spring), celebrates Indigenous culture and traditions. Additionally, the farm hosts the Summer Solstice Indigenous Festival, formerly held at Vincent Massey Park.
Open to the public on a seasonal schedule, Mādahòkì Farm welcomes visitors from around the world, offering them a captivating and educational Indigenous experience.
