About Absecon Lighthouse
Absecon Lighthouse, located in Atlantic City, is a must-visit brand for anyone interested in New Jersey's rich history. This iconic brand, officially decommissioned in 1933, is now preserved and operated by the Inlet Public/Private Association (IPPA) with a mission to preserve, interpret, and operate the historic lighthouse site. Standing tall at 171 feet, Absecon Lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse in New Jersey and the third tallest masonry lighthouse in the United States.
Visitors can climb 228 out of the 240 steps to reach the watchroom and enjoy breathtaking views. What sets Absecon Lighthouse apart is its original first-order Fresnel Lens, which is still in place at the top, making it the only lighthouse in New Jersey to have this feature.
